RESPITE SERVICES

Alzheimer’s disease can be a long journey, putting caregivers at risk for social isolation, physical illness, and financial problems. The Alzheimer’s Project provides much needed breaks for caregivers through the Day Respite program, which we like to call Social Club. This program keeps people who have Alzheimer’s disease socially engaged through music therapy, games, and other activities while allowing their caregiver time to care for themselves. Many go grocery shopping, get a haircut, or take a much needed nap.

Respite is offered on a weekly basis on-site at different locations around the Big Bend. Each location is different but all respite site coordinators utilize volunteers and group activities to keep the clients active and socially engaged throughout the day. Activities during the day include: arts and crafts, music therapy, pet therapy, chair yoga, games, and much more. We have a lot of fun!

Clients must be assessed before attending. Please call 1-850-386-2778 to schedule your loved one’s initial assessment.
